Smart Home Technology
All apartments currently on offer at both the Titanic Mill and Oats Royd Mill developments bring purchasers the option to enjoy "tomorrow's world" convenience and security, by being pre-cabled to incorporate SMART Home Technology, developed by industrial giant Seimens and installed by Lambda Technologies Ltd.
This pre-cabling will enable purchasers to select from some, or all of the exciting SMART network systems, as additional cost options.

These could include:
ENTERTAINMENT DISTRIBUTION:
TV connection sockets can be placed in every room. If a full-blown Home Theatre were to be specified, a plasma screen and surround sound speakers could be supplied if required. A single VCR or DVD player is all that's required to provide pre-recorded entertainment throughout the apartment, with access and control from any room. Satellite, terrestrial and cable channels can all be selected and controlled in the same way. Wall or ceiling-mounted speakers can distribute radio, cassette, CD, or TV audio to any room, with volume and source selection either by means of wall-mounted display panels, or a remote control unit.
CCTV and SECURITY:
CCTV cameras can be linked to provide video entry-phones or, used internally, to monitor a baby in a separate room, with the images selectable on any of the apartment's TVs. Lighting can be integrated into an enhanced intruder alarm system. For example, by fitting a simple movement detector an intruder would see lights being turned on in sequence, say from the bedroom to the hallway. Alternatively, every internal light can be set to "strobe" when the alarm siren sounds, were an intruder to be detected. An additional feature enables recording of the apartment owner's sequence of turning on lights and opening curtains or blinds each morning, with the reverse sequence being recorded each evening. When the owner leaves on business or for a holiday a Simulated Occupancy function can be set to replicate these sequences, giving a strong visual impression that the apartment is still occupied.
STYLE AND FLEXIBILITY:
Style Profiles would allow creative use of the apartment's lighting system. Multi-function light switches enable digital dimming of lighting groups, whilst just one switch can be designated to turn every light in the apartment on or off at once. Hands-free lighting enables automatic illumination in each room when the owner's presence is detected. Lighting "scenes" can be designed to create moods, with curtain or blind control being added to the scene if required!
TELEPHONE DISTRIBUTION:
Telephone sockets can be available in every room. Phones can simultaneously link with a fax machine, allow internet access via a PC, or make a call. A small telephone system (PABX) can be installed enabling incoming phone calls to be routed to different rooms.
ECONOMY:
Zoned temperature control will avoid overheating rooms, whilst temperature management would react to an opened window, or reduce heating when a room was unoccupied.
COMPLETE CONVENIENCE;
Infra Red Remote Control could be specified, to control lights, draw curtains or set lighting scenes. Home Network computer functions such as central printing, file storage or internet access can be available anywhere in the apartment via a convenient port in each room.* Dial-up access can allow a selection of the apartment's systems to be controlled or monitored at the touch of a phone button - from any location. Central locking enables the alarm to be set, the doors to be locked, the lights turned off and heating turned down as the owner leaves, with the reverse on their return. Purchasers at Titanic Mill are now able to select which SMART systems packages best suit their lifestyles, as additional cost options.
