TV CREW REVISIT THE SECOND COMING AT MAINE ROAD
Tiger Aspect is an independent production company that has brought us some smash hits such as Vicar of Dibley, The Catherine Tate Show and Harry Enfield & Chums.
Amongst other things they are currently making a documentary of places that were used as backdrops and locations for various British dramas over the past 10 years or so.

The team today consisted of Andrew Humphries (Producer and Filming) and Kate Edmunds (Asst).

The reason they were at Maine Place is that they were revisiting the location of a drama shown in February 2003 called The Second Coming. This drama starred Steve Baxter (played by Christopher Eccleston) who claims he is the son of God and to prove it he performs a miracle by turning night into day at Maine Road the home of Manchester City Football Club. The drama also starred big names like Lesley Sharp (Afterlife), John Henshaw (Early Doors) and Mark Benton (Northern Lights).

The drama was produced by Red Productions another independent production company founded by Nicola Shindler. Red Productions also produced some smash hits such as Queer as Folk, Clocking Off and Good Housekeeping.

Nicola Shindler was interviewed this morning at Maine Road and described why they chose Maine Place for the event. She stated we (Red Productions) wanted to create a major spectacle that would prove without doubt that Steve Baxter was the Second Coming and not mad. We had to film the scene twice, one in the day and again after dark, and then, using CGI we put both scenes together to produce the shaft of light that illuminated the whole stadium.

The photos show a heavily pregnant Nicola Shindler being interviewed on site this morning.
